Helford River is another must go destination for a cruising yacht. The shelter is excellent except in strong easterlies (which are rare). There are a number of places to anchor and a number of visitor buoys in ‘the pool’ just opposite the sailing club. In high season we can except that rafting up will be essential on these buoys. https://www.helfordrivermoorings.co.uk/ tells you more. A passage to Helford River from the Fal estuary can be made during a south-westerly weather system because the coast is sheltered from the worst of the wind and waves and feels very satisfying.
Food is usually available from the pub on the north shore. Food and drinks plus showers in the sailing club on the south shore.
