RelaX of Phoenix

RelaX is an X-Yachts X-40 built in 2008.  She has three double cabins, and the “Modern” saloon layout, giving a maximum of 7 berths.

She is IRC rated: IRC 2.

First Impressions of RelaX

“She looks gorgeous, (let’s keep her that way please!) and handles superbly. With that huge wheel I was over-steering like a novice, so my sailing skills have got to improve to her standard! From her upwind speed she will need to be reefed earlier than I am used to and I am not too proud to!”

Judith Hankey Cruising Officer

“RelaX is a lovely boat to sail – easy to manoeuvre and very slippery under sail. Looking forward to making long passages in her.”

Peter Clare Skipper Familiarisation Day

“In short, Relax has bamboozled me. First she presented herself as well designed comfortable cruiser when I stepped in. But then, when we got going, she took me straight back to some 25 years ago when I was doing fast racers where you could barely make a cup of tea let alone sleep comfortably. She has got the best of both !”

Laurent Morlet Skipper & Training Officer

“A great yacht providing a wonderfully rewarding challenge to sail in all conditions. A lovely big chart table in the cockpit and another in the saloon – no excuses for getting lost!”

Robert Lewcock Delivery Trip Navigator.

“An amazing blend of performance and comfort.  A head-turner on the water. Is this the perfect racer-cruiser or cruiser-racer?”

Richard Aust Skipper Familiarisation Day

“RelaX is a super boat, a excellent replacement for Spellbinder. Handles really well under power. Under sail with the heavy weight jib and main we achieved over 8 knots in Fareham Creek. Very well appointed down below.”

Chris Watts Skipper Familiarisation Day

“RelaX is a very slick craft. We only had time for a short sail and she was easy to sail, and handling under power is very responsive. Thanks to Trevor for the well organised day. I left him some toffees as it was his fillings or mine.”

Barry Barnes Skipper Familiarisation Day

“Relax is a superb yacht combining sleek design with a robust quality build, and capable of fast cruising – sailing close-hauled from Den Helder to Ijmuiden we were doing almost 7 knots through the water in less than 10 knots of wind!”
